Helping Deputy unlock its pricing power.
Deputy is the global workforce management platform for hourly work, serving over 375,000 workplaces across 100+ countries. As it expanded from a single scheduling product into a multi-product platform covering HR, payroll and communications, it needed a pricing strategy that matched its evolution.

The Challenge
Deputy had grown from a single scheduling product into a full workforce management suite, but pricing and packaging had not evolved to match. Joe Janela joined as a team of one to lead the transformation: evolving the packaging structure, determining price points, analyzing churn and revenue impact, and coordinating change management across the organization.
THE SOLUTION
A pricing transformation covering customer research, willingness-to-pay analysis, packaging optimization and rollout support. Data from customer surveys and competitive analysis showed Deputy had more pricing power than the internal team believed, particularly in certain regions. The new structure introduced an annual-paid-monthly option based on customer research.
